Job Description

Duties and Responsibilities

Diagnose/resolving internal and external customer problems
Qualifications of new or updates releases of file systems, volume managers, databases, hosts
Design and development of new features and enhancements
Provides solutions to a variety of problems of moderate scope and complexity.
Writing detailed design specs and unit test plans.
Applies knowledge of software design and best practices
Follows standard engineering practices, uses judgment within defined practices and procedures.
Implements work-plans and schedules as assigned.
Seeks assistance when needed, demonstrates self-initiative.
Sphere of influence primarily limited to immediate work group.
Ability to work in a across functions and in a team environment

SKILLS:
Must write in at least one mainstream language, (preferred proficiency in C and C++ ).
Experience in databases like Oracle, Sybase, DB2, SQL
Unix and Linux - internal Experience
Windows internals knowledge, Windows development experience, Windows Service experience, Windows System Administration experience
Relational Database knowledge
Design and develop code from specifications (Functional specifications or Design Specifications)
Solid written & verbal communication skills.
Demonstrated analytical and problem solving skills.
Ability to learn and apply new tools and applications.
Full use and application of standard engineering principles, theories, and concepts
Background knowledge of disk storage systems, RAID, drivers, and hardware is a plus but not required.

Education Required: Bachelor's in Computer Science or Software Engineering
Experience Required: Minimum 4 plus years industry experience
