Candidate Profile:

DEVELOPMENT SKILLS UNDER UNIX / LINUX : Confident in accomplishing day-to-day tasks with the command line interface. Emacs or a comparable editor. Basic command line operations in a UNIX shell, text tools such as grep, find etc. Collaborative development with CVS or a comparable revision control system.
SCRIPTING LANGUAGES : Perl, Python, Ruby, PHP, TCL SQL : Either Oracle or PostgreSQL, or a comparable database system. Experience with procedural SQL - PLSQL under Oracle or PostgreSQL. In-depth understanding of query writing and the strategies for making queries efficient in a multi-user environment.
WEB DEVELOPMENT : HTML. Practical experience with writing dynamic web pages. In General. . . Understanding of the principles of the GPL and related licenses is required, preferably also of open source development processes, how to ask questions on public mailing lists, etc. You are ready to think big and dream big. You are willing to take on more meaningful challenges and make a difference. You are eager to innovate; inclined towards new technologies and committed to open source software. You enjoy building complex applications for the internet. You prefer a diverse and multi-cultural work environment. And. . . . You have strong programming skills; good knowledge of relational databases and worked on web projects.
