Job Description:

Experienced applications engineer, responsible for the installation, maintenance, and ongoing operations of production applications in support of Navis business. This position is part of an enterprise application team responsible for delivery of all Navis business infrastructure capabilities.

Responsibilities:

* Manage delivery of product application products. Perform maintenance and resolve issue as they happen
* Create and manage applications testing environments, and execute test and certification procedures for new product before move to production
* Assist in the design and deployment of new applications in support of enhanced business capabilities
* Update operations documentation reflecting changes to policies and procedures

Required Qualifications:

* 3 years experience managing applications solutions in a production environment
* Undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar information systems curriculum
* Proficiency with most popular Microsoft back office products (Windows Server, Active Directory, Exchange, SharePoint), as well as the Office product suite
* Installation experience on Windows platform, including OS / multiboot OS configuration, wireless configuration
* Knowledge of Linux and Solaris
* Experience in scripting languages, ant, XML technologies
* Knowledge of antivirus, backup, network management, storage, and security
* Familiarity with SQL solutions, one or more of Oracle, MySQL, and SQLServer
* Installation/management experience on Application servers like Tomcat, Weblogic, Oracle AS
* Experience with Web servers like Apache
* Core Java skills
* Proficiency using project management and ticket management systems to tracking project time and workload tasks
* Excellent communication skills. This position works closely with all member s of the IT team as well as employees from all Navis business units worldwide
* Excellent problem-solving skills
* Excellent documentation skills
* Ability to work both independently and as part of a team

Desired Experience:

* Experience with software development tools: CVS, Teamcity, Jira
* Exposure to VMWare or any other virtualization technologies
* Knowledge of web application technologies
