Job Description BUSINESS UNIT OVERVIEW
The Financial Technology team is responsible for multiple applications in support of the Financial Books and Records of Goldman Sachs. Our deliverables include the Firms' Balance Sheet, Income Statement, Cashflow Statement and Footnotes, Financial Consolidations and FX analysis.
The Financial Data Warehouse is built on various technologies including Hyperion Business Intelligence Tools, Essbase, Informatica, Java, etc.

RESPONSIBILIITES

Be part of the global team that will work on various Financial Technology projects:

- Integration, Transformation and Enrichment of data extracted from the sub ledgers in the warehouse
- General Production Support for Batch issues, User inquiries and enhancements in the post deployment phase.
- Application Development on a custom Footnote application involving complex database design, workflow, and application logic
- Center of excellence for stress and regression testing of application component
SKILL / EXPERIENCE

MANDATORY

- Design and development skills in Core Java, web applications and distributed applications development (Core Java, JMS, XML, JDBC, JSP, Servlets).
- Strong relational Databases knowledge (UDB, Sybase)
- OOAD concepts, design patterns, and exposure to Agile development
- Good communication skills, team-player and a strong desire to learn


PREFERRED

-Exposure / understanding of ORM frameworks like Hibernate, testing frameworks like Junit, Fitnesse, QTP is a plus.
-Perl / Shell scripting experience on Linux / Unix.
-Jakarta Ant, Make or similar build tools
- CVS or similar versioning tools
- Scheduling software (e.g. Autosys, Tivoli)
-General accounting concepts knowledge is a plus.
-Experience in Securities / Financial industry preferred
